Got up..Breakfast...fed the "Kids"...Saw the lady next door who is selling her house. She had a box fan taking it to the street to throw away. I asked her if it worked. She said yes and I asked if I could have it..I met her halfway and took it from her. Asked her about the house, and it is supposed to close March 31st to a young couple. I was a little worried, but she said they weren't transplants, the young lady had grown up in the Cove, so hopefully they will be okay. She said she thought we were good neighbors. Found out she is moving up close to where we had moved away from. in a townhouse down the street from our old house. She left and I called my 3 hr friend and we talked as I fed Peanuts to Buddy. Got off the phone and started cleaning the fan. It was pretty dirty. But fans always get that way if you don't clean them regularly. Will work on the outside grids tomorrow. Couldn't figure out how I would do it, since our water hose...TMI. LOL Anyway, I did a few shores I had put off. Tom cooked supper. He took the rest of the roasted chicken and cut it up...added rice..Cream of Mushroom soup, Chicken Broth, and mushrooms along with seasoning. I added garlic bread. It was different..not what I like..rice is not on my list of favorites. But it was okay. Laundry tomorrow and leftovers.

Why do people throw away stuff that works ? why not take it to the good will or some place to help others in need, I don't get why people don't do that. If I have something that I don't want & useful to some 1 else I take it to a place where some 1 else can use it, like we have food pantries that take stuff that other people don't want & donate it to help others.

I donate stuff all the time, but I was so glad I caught her before she threw it away. Last night there was a car going by that stopped to check out the pile of cardboard boxes she had stacked up in front of her house. They would have gotten that fan if I hadn't seen it first.

A brush should work on the outside grids with a bowl of soapy water???

I’m glad she thinks the neighbors will be good ones. I understand being a little wary when good neighbors end up moving.

I can feel the mixed emotions of leaving the old place with good neighbors. I had experienced that, and the good memories about them linger in my mind until now.

That fan should come in very handy.
