Continued from : https://www.mylot.com/post/3642568/travel-talk-spendingtime-at-helsinki-airport-enroute-denmark Airports are for catching flights. Arriving or Departing to or from a place. May be a couple of expensive shops to buy or eat from. Or some lounges. Yet what I saw at the Helsinki-Vaanta Airport in Helsinki, Finland was so unique, mind blowing and spectacular that I find it a bit difficult to explain here. They had an area with full time digital display showcasing seasons and places including Aurora Bourealis (like in the image). I tried to capture in my phone but not sure if it can show the depth and the fineness well enough. The way it was projecting and showing different places & seasons was very remarkable!! And no, this is no paid promotion!! Image : taken by own mobile. I took some videos as well but can't share them here. To be continued...

My brother stayed in Finland for 2 years but none of my plans to visit him could actually be executed. Something or the other kept popping up. Husband has been there once for his business trip. This one is beautiful. I am sure that the phone camera fails to capture the real spirit and vibe that you get in physical presence. I have to catch up the other discussions of your travel. I will do that right away.

@arunima25 Now when I shared this part here, I think I should have captured more pictures. May be I can try taking some screenshot from the videos I have. Still, it cannot capture the mood and the magnificence that I witnessed. Even one of my colleagues liked it a lot.

That must have been really neat. It kind of reminds me of a planetarium.

That would have been amazing. What a great way to pass the time in an airport.

@JudyEv Initially it was sunshine outside, so it did look good. However, as the evening fell, the display became even more spectacular. A video can do some justice. Photographs won't capture the full mood and the joy that it provided.

That would be great if you can see the aurora borealis in real.

Very interesting. I love how contemporary the airport is.
