Is Russia running out of soldiers to fight Ukraine?

February 24, 2026 8:33pm CST
I saw something interesting online recently, claiming that Russia is running out of soldiers to fight Ukraine and that is the reason they are recruiting soldiers from other countries. Aside North Korea, the country seems to be luring unsuspecting young men from countries in Africa and some other parts of the world to fight their war.

Nah If Putin wanted he could treble the size of his army overnight by compelling all young men to do Army service. I think when the Special Military Operation started it was not envisaged it would take so long to achieve it's objective Hiring foreign soldiers, and not conscripting Russians gave the appearance to the Russian people that it was going well

I wish they’d run out of people. And that they wouldn’t dupe clueless foreigners into fighting their senseless war.

Putin realises Russians don't want to risk their lives which is why he imports others.

Russia is not currently struggling to recruit new soldiers. While Ukraine is in desperate need of soldiers.
