Why don't batteries last for more than one use?
I took a trip around my backyard and found a dandelion, in half-bloom.
I took a photo of it.
I hooked up my camera to download it to my laptop...
Do you see it here?
Of course not!
Do I have any newer batteries?
Of course not.

I don't use anything now that needs batteries, but when I did, I always made sure I had an excess of the necessary batteries and a battery recharger.

Our house is like Battery City. My hubby has a huge box full of batteries. I'm sorry you are out.

Wow, that’s a problem. Maybe there’s something in the settings that’s turning itself on or NOT turning itself off when you tell it to. I agree with you, even cheap dollar-store batteries last longer than that!

I'm sorry you couldn't upload the photo.
Maybe it's the brand of batteries you use? I buy Duracell batteries and they seem to last a long time in my battery-operated devices.
Do you have a cellphone with a camera? That's how I take and upload pictures. My phone is always charged and ready when something interesting it happening. I just send myself the photos I take in text messages to my email address and open/store them on my laptop.
