Chinese takeaway tonight ….it was so good.

We have takeaway on a Friday for tea. We vary it between Chinese, fish & chips and KFC , sometimes we go out to eat if there is a deal on.
We haven’t had Chinese in sooooo long, so we decided to have that tonight.
Maybe it was the fact that we hadn’t had it in a while, but tonight it tasted so good.
We had
Sweet and chili chicken
Chicken chow mein
Egg fried rice
Mini spring rolls,
Chicken with bamboo shoots and water chestnuts
Chips
Free prawn crackers.
We have enough left over for supper and tomorrow’s lunch.
What do you have from the takeaway ?

We used to buy Chinese Takeaway
But during lockdown I learned to cook Chinese.
Not ordered a Chinese Takeaway since then
Me and my neighbour over the back both cook Indian and Chinese cuisine really well
Right down to the plon claka

Well done on learning a new skill …and a useful one too.
A lot of people didn’t do anything in lockdowns.

I like them both.
And the trick with Chinese cooking to get the authentic taste is MSG and both good quality light soy sauce and dark soy sauce.
Chinese takeaway here are not very good.

I’ve had lemon chicken but never orange chicken. I don’t think our takeaway does that one ….i will check.

@Traceyjayne The lemon chicken is done differently than the orange chicken at our restaurant. The orange chicken is battered and fried with orange peels. It's sooo good.

I LOVE Springfield-style cashew chicken! (It started at a Chinese restaurant in Springfield, Mo. It is white chicken breaded and deep fried with a cashew sauce, cashews and green onions sprinkled on top. It's served on a bed of rice. [Pretty takes my rice.]) We also get egg rolls, Pretty gets crab rangoon and, sometimes, egg drop soup. 
I keep saying I want to eat there but she keeps saying it's too expensive. 
Their prices have gone up but you still get a lot for your money. (I used to get three cashew chicken orders for $20 but it's $35 for that now... I'd still pay it!)
3 orders of cashew chicken is enough for six meals.
