Never mind the bombing, it’s who reported it first that counts.

Well I suppose this latest war type event keeps the TV, radio and newspaper classes occupied. They really do get off on going over the details again and again, sounding so important as they do so. Some of them even sound to be more than just a little bit aroused. Does the public really need to see maps with arrows rushing across them? And do we really need to hear all that every two bit politician has to say, especially as they don’t really ever have anything interesting to add. I think the best but reported so far has been what came out of the Bloviator-in-Chief’s mouth when he referred to Iranian warships floating at the bottom of the sea! Strange use of the verb to float. Yes there’s a war on, yes it’s beyond appalling, but it’s not the reporting that’s important. I’m fed up. All I need to know is that it’s over.

"Some of them even sound to be more than just a little bit aroused." I noticed that. Clive Myrie for instance, his eyes were bulging.

@ineeddentures I wonder other bits of Clive may have been bulging? Like I said in a previous post, war and violence act like an aphrodisiac for some folk.

@xFiacre I recall him in Kiev when all hell broke out in that war. Come to think about it he did looked like he got an adrenaline rush from the war in Ukraine too

THe media gets off on creating drama however possible. It's how they get paid, too. Gone are the days where the news was a mix of the good bad and ugly. Now it's the ugly and the weather.

Journalism needed something to report on once the Winter Olympics were over.
