Well, yes, I do know that the actual saying is ‘ an apple a day keeps the Doctor away ‘……but I like to mix it up a bit ! I have spent a quiet afternoon with my Mom doing puzzles. Mom has been doing crosswords and word searches. I have been doing word searches and sudoku. One reason is, Mom finds it painful to move at the moment due to her shingles. And the second reason is we like to keep our minds active. Doing puzzles keeps your brain ticking over. It’s a good hobby to have. Do you do puzzles ? Do you have hobbies ?

I do crossword puzzles, word searches, and I just got a wooden jigsaw puzzle. It’s fun for me, and I’ve recently really gotten into them all. Too much TV and internet isn’t great after awhile.

I used to do jigsaws when I was younger but for some reason I don’t do them anymore …..what pictures do you have on your jigsaws ?

Word puzzles are my favorites. I used to have a lot more hobbies; but arthritis in my hands has made me stop needlework and a lot of other crafts.

I love word puzzles too. It’s a shame you can’t do needlework now…..blithering arthritis ! I used to do cross stitch. I did pictures and greetings cards.

@Traceyjayne I loved needlepoint and embroidery. I bought an embroidery kit a couple of years ago; but I never did start it. Maybe I will some day and just do it in short increments.

That's a good idea to do puzzles. It would help distract your Mum from the pain.

Yes, she does love doing puzzles anyway, but especially at the moment as it keeps her sitting still ….moving about gives her too much pain.
