Dandelion and Burdock …..do you know what that is ?

So, question for today ……
Do you know what Dandelion and Burdock is ?
It is a lovely, yet unusual flavoured, drink.
Made from plant roots….practically herbal if you will !
Made years ago for its medicinal properties.
It’s something I used to drink a lot when I was younger as my Grandparents used to have it. Last time I had some was about 30 years ago !
Have you tried it ?

I have made dandelion tea and had an allergy to it I’m sure from the pollen. I’ve never had dandelion or burdock as a drink. I’ve had burdocks stuck in my hair though or what an ordeal to get that out.

I’ve never actually seen a burdock ! What do they look like ?

@shaggin oh, thank you for that. What colour are they ? Dandelion and burdock is dark brown in colour…..

It is still available ….but not widely so….i don’t think it’s as popular today as it was when I was a child.

Never heard, haven't tried. Though there are dandelions and burdocks in this country, they are not commonly found growing in the wild throughout the country. They're specialized plants. They only exist when someone grows them here.

Dandelions grow here as weeds …they are common place in uncut grass. Our tortoise used to love eating them …..
