Did your family take seasonal vacations when you were a child?

I can only remember a couple of "vacations" growing up.
We camped out, the old fashioned way, in a musky old canvas tent on the ground (no air mattresses back then) and ate what my dad and uncles caught hunting and it was no vacation for my mom at all as the only adult female who had to cook for everybody.
Then once we drove to Sarasota, Florida and the 4 of us slept in my dad's van.
So no, vacations were rare and rustic when I was a child.
How about you? Did your family take seasonal vacations?

My relatives would take vacations from Panama to the U S to visit my relatives from my late dad's side of the family during the months of July and August when I was a child with my relatives.

Yes, my family would go to the river bank ten kms from our house and spend hours there.Sometimes we would go to an old temple located atop a hillock and stay there till sundown.

Yes. We went to Virginia Beach, Washington D. C., New York City, Niagara Falls and Belle Island MI. We had to go by train and bus since we had no car.
