Question of the day ….. Do you eat sausage rolls ? I do love a good sausage roll, but I don’t eat them very often. I have them from Greggs sometimes ….but haven’t they got expensive ! I wonder if you make sausage rolls or buy them in the shops , or eat them in a cafe …..? Anyway, please do let me know ….

@traceyjayne I do, but am always worried that the pastry might be either too dry or too greasy. And I don’t like them microwaved.

@Traceyjayne The best here are from Asher’s bakery and yes, they’re expensive. Cafes always seem to microwave them … why?

@xFiacre we don’t have Asher’s bakery. I don’t know why they microwave them in cafes as it just makes the pastry go soft.

I think that's called "pigs in a blanket" here and no, we don't eat them.

@Traceyjayne Ours are sausages wrapped in dough and baked. Mom used to make them when I was a kid.

Pigs in blankets here are either sausages wrapped in bread ….or a small sausage wrapped in bacon ….we tend to have those at Christmas.

I don’t know if sausage rolls and the sausage balls I make are the same thing. It’s sausage, cheddar cheese, and Bisquik, rolled into balls and baked.

No, a sausage roll is just a sausage or sausage meat wrapped in pastry and baked in the oven.

I rarely buy them but we make them from time to time and I always try to have one if they're offered somewhere.
