Do you take vitamins?

I have never really been big on taking vitamins. I go through phases where I take them for a while, but I never seem to stick with it for long. Honestly, the last time I was really consistent about it was back in my Flintstones Vitamins days. However, many of you know that I’ve started a bit of a health journey lately. It’s not really about losing weight or anything like that. It’s more about just feeling better overall. I already have enough health issues as it is, so the goal is to avoid adding any more to the list. One thing I’ve started doing as part of this journey is drinking at least one protein shake a day. I found a brand that I really like, and I usually add two scoops of the powder to whatever I’m making. Sometimes I only use one scoop, depending on how much other protein I’ve had that day. I’ve also started making protein coffee, which has been a surprisingly good way to get some extra protein in. The reason I bring all of this up is because the protein powder I use actually contains a lot of vitamins. So that’s basically how I’m getting my vitamins these days, instead of trying to keep up with a bunch of different pills. So I’m curious, do you take vitamins? Or do you get them another way like I do?

The problem I have is that there doesn't seem any way of knowing if they're doing any good or not. I guess blood tests would tell you.

@thislittlepennyearns Yes. With luck a good diet would be supplying all you need and vitamins are expensive.

I take a Multi-Vitamin for women over 50, Extra Vitamin D3 with K2, Vit B12 every other day, and Calcium, Magnesium and zinc pill 3 times a week. I was taking B12 every day, but doctor said my level was too high, so now only 3 times a week.

About ten years ago, I came across an independent article about which vitamins are the best for men, and which are the best for women. One a Day vitamins for women were listed as the best so I started taking them. When money gets tight, I stop taking them. Right now, the only supplement I take is Magnesium Glycinate. I have been trying to get my other Vitamins in things like milk, at least lately.

The one a day make me violently ill. I don't know if they have coconut in them, or if it is just too many vitamins all at once. Or something else. But they have made me sick every single time I have tried to tkae them
