Soda is something that is called something different depending on where you are in the states or even in the world. I grew up in the pacific northwest and we called it soda or pop for most of my childhood and early aadult years. When I went to school in Tennessee and then later when I moved down to Florida is became soda. But for the last ten years or so it has become Coke. That is a southern thing I have noticed. We call everything Coke. If you want a Doctor Pepper, you call it a coke. A ginger ale? Yep that's a coke too! So what do you call a soda/pop in your neck of the woods?

In general, I call it soda. If I'm referring to something specific, like my beloved Dr. Pepper lol, I call it by its name.

@thislittlepennyearns Ugh. I'm going to Disney in two years, so they better get their lives together. I don't play about my Dr. Pepper lol.

All throughout my childhood, we called it pop. It wasn’t until I became an adult, and I have no idea why, but I began calling it soda.

Maybe it was a generational thing and thats why I grew up calling it pop. My ex actually slapped me for calling it pop once. I don't know why i needed to share that, but there you have it
