I checked....

A while ago I actually did check outside to see if I could tell what the bird at my window was trying to do. It was there when I went outside, and there was nothing hanging by the window that it could have been trying to grab, though as I watched it it clung to the window screen for a bit, then went to where the glass was exposed. I figure the noise I heard was the bird pecking at the window. All I could think of was it maybe trying to get at the colorful beads on the windchime I have hanging on the inside of the window. The bird gave up not long after I went out and looked. I'll never know what the bird was actually doing, but the above was my guess. (photo is of the windchime at night from the inside in a different place than where it is now).

I'm afraid I don't know. I wish I could have taken a picture. It was brown and the size of a swallow, I would say.

Maybe the bird just wanted to say hi.

A good question what the bird was doing outside of your window other than being curious.
