I never played anything major. Little League as a kid. I was so young and never had a father. Sister would come to my games but I was afraid of everything in those days. It just kind of made me not want to play anymore because I did not comprehend what it was all about.
Years later, when I would play street basketball just for the sheer fun and competition. It was much better. People would yell at you, just like little league. The difference is I think it taught you how to survive this mean world.
OK, its like that now. Yeah, its like that, you better play better fool, you little runt, maggot. There we go, now that is what I am talking about.
That's not the fun part. The fun part was when you finally saw true honor. How everyone was trying their hardest and mistakes would be made. That's OK, shake it off. Your opponent had so much respect for the way you were playing and you had so much respect for how they were playing.
Those days were far and few, but it was enough to make you understand why you play.
My favorite was in National Guard. i just turned 23, but been a big party animal. Out of shape compared to when I was 16.
Some of these fools have no clue how to play. My Lieutenant, she played college ball at Baylor or some crap, she was good. I had to knock off the rust and just expect this is the streets times 10. She and I went 9 and 0 against all these hackers and foul abusers. lol
She wanted to make it fun, split her and I up. I thought she had us. I was like screw that. Came back from 5 eliminations points. She was like 9 an 1 is not bad. I wanted to say 10 and 0 is better, but I just do not roll like that,. What a fun day, even though I was tired, I wanted to stop playing like 10 times.
That's my inspirational speech to Team USA. These teams from around the world have become so much better at baseball. Italy looks impressive.Who would have said that 10 years ago.
Enjoy the crap out of that honorable competition. Its neat and fun when people try so hard and care so much, win or lose, you will be proud.

You know what they say, a way through a persons heart is sports because they can tell if you care or not.
I just made that up, but I thought sounded good and makes some sense.

Very true and why I love it because you can just tell how much respect they have for each other. Different teams, they all know what it took to get there.
