Whether discussing recipes, sharing what you had for a meal on My Lot, or experiencing the taste of a food product, many people share an interest in foods as a topic. So, let's see if these food facts make you hungry for more. - Nutmeg is a hallucinogen. That's right, taken in large doses this spice has mind-altering effects. Move over LSD! - Crackers can be effective in soothing acid reflux. If your suffering from that burning sensation these will help. Just remember not to put any toppings like butter on those crackers. Plain only or you will defeat their purpose. - Cheese is the most stolen food in the world. I love cheese but have never stolen any, lol. There’s even a black market for cheese! -Some people are scared of peanut butter. Like other phobias foods are no exception. Arachibutyrophobia is the fear of peanut butter getting stuck to the roof of your mouth! I guess it's a sticky situation for them. -Twinkie cream isn’t cream at all. It is actually vegetable shortening! Oh no, that was my favorite part! Comments on any of these food facts? What was your favorite fact? Source- The Fact Site

Great post, it explains a lot of things. Maybe why America is not what it used to be. We did stop being what we used to be when we made some of the most unhealthiest foods in the world. Japan and China eating fish, we eating Twinkies.

Fast food rules and is usually cheaper than healthier alternatives. Seems we got things backwards. Of course, I'm sure were in good company with other nations. Based on WHO and Global Burden of Disease data, the United States, United Kingdom, Australia, Saudi Arabia, and Mexico top the list of unhealthiest diets in 2025.

@dgobucks226 Its an interesting thing/. I think money and work load play role. Japan works crazy hours too. Most work 6 days a week 10 to 12 hours, so maybe where teaching is a thing there, you need to eat healthy to be sane at the end of the day. It all sounds miserable to me, people need to learn how to actually live again. When people enjoy their life, no one shoots a school up, no one does terrorist attacks, no one bombs countries for no reason.

@crossbones27 I think terrorist attacks, and shooting up schools and killing people can be attributed to several things in addition to someone with an unhappy life. Here are a few which concern me: -Mental illness. -Being swayed by false narratives on social and news media to the point of hatred and violence. -Having a desperate need to belong and be accepted. Even to the point of joining a group who has radical ideologies. -Also, what is taught in schools today fuels hatred and division against others. I would bet there are some people in this world who are unhappy with their lives, (I know a few) but they don't go around being violent and killing people.

Cheese can be expensive. I would think steaks or beef would be the most stolen though.

About 4% of all cheese made around the globe ends up stolen. Guess it is considered a delicacy in certain countries. Another fun food fact: How Many Did You Know Bad eggs will float. Ripe cranberries will bounce. Sound can influence the taste of your food. High-frequency sounds enhance the sweetness in food, while low frequencies bring out the bitterness.

Vegetable shortening? What a sad discovery for us! That’s a pretty cool fact about nutmeg too.

Now I am sad because I like the cream in twinkies. Vegetable shortening sounds really gross.

Now that's a productive goal to achieve. Maybe the reason the spice uses "Nut" as part of its name. (Just kidding, couldn't help myself) Go for it!
