He was 81. Mueller was appointed to the FBI position by George W. Bush and served under both Bush and Obama. Obama even asked him to stay on after the usual 10 year term so he was director of the FBI for 12 years. People may not have known about him or remember his tenure as FBI director but anyone who pays attention to the news knows him as the Special Counsel appointed to investigate Russian collusion in the 2016 presidential election as well as obstruction. He produced a 448 page report on the matters but ultimately did not charge Trump with obstruction (which he conclusively proved) because you can't charge a sitting president with a crime. (not really sure how that is different from him being convicted of 34 felonies in NY) Muller's family announced in August that he had been diagnosed with Parkinson's back in 2021. He passed away last night. Trump--ever the piece of trash--posted on his social media site today: “Robert Mueller just died. Good, I’m glad he’s dead. “He can no longer hurt innocent people!” What a disgusting excuse for a human being.

Just now
I can’t adequately express how horrified I was when I heard Trump had said that. I shouldn’t be surprised at all, but you just don’t expect so much vileness from one person.
