Who Cheat? Who?

Oh! There's no cheating involved, my father is just too handsome that he produce so many kids. Lol! 
Oftentimes, when people learned I have a half siblings and I'm younger than them. The confusion, the worries, the curiosity and hesitation to ask was obviously written all over their faces.
So instead of explaining the whole family history. Lol! I tend to joke at first, for them to feel at ease. And that works!
Awkward moment close and they start asking comfortably.
Do you also use humor to break awkward situations or do you prefer explaining right away?
