My new doctor's name is Matthew.. G. but he sent me a message in re: my blood pressure monitor said everything looked pretty well controlled so no worries there. I felt like we were peers using his nickname, and messaging me. Does your doc ever use his nickname? It's a new kind of medicine I guess. I never had a doctor communicate with me directly before. It is usually through office staff..

Yvonne's professor guy calls him self Tom
His second name is interesting
And quite easy to say but it can sound wrong

I try not to call them anything. I mean my nurse practitioner I would have called by her first name because everyone else did. It some how feels wrong to call a doctor by their first name though.

Yes. Doctors we are close to, we use their nicknames.

It's a carry-on from my mother's era I guess where doctors were very close to God and you wouldn't dream of using their first name even if you knew it. Nowadays, all the professionals seem to use their first names but I can't help feeling a bit uncomfortable with it.
