There is a big ground in front of my house. A major part of the ground is covered by green grass. Cows and bullocks from different areas are left there to graze. Today a cow with its newborn calf was grazing there. The calf was very weak. A pack of three or four street dogs spotted the calf and rushed to it. The cow turned around with a lightening speed and shielded her newborn Dogs retreated a little back and attacked the calf from behind, but the mother hit one of them that looked most aggressive. The dog immediately rushed away barking and the cow attacked the other cows The dogs gave in, but the cow was not satisfied. She chased all of them till they left the area. Then she came back rushing to her calf and began licking his forehead. I was looking all this. I was looking a mother ready to protect her child at any cost.

You are absolutely right. A mother, be she a human being, or a cow or a bird, becomes aggressive when it comes to protect its child. Mothers are great.

Indeed, a very heart warming scene. Showcases how far a mother can go to protect her kids. However, in humans, often mothers even overshoot and then the excess can cause another kind of problem !

Thank you. But a mother is a mother after all. Be she a human or a animal or a bird, they can go to any length to protect their child. A human mother may sometimes go to extreme, but you can't blame them. They are mothers brimming with love for their child

Cool story! I got chased by a cow once when I accidentally got between her and her calf. Typo (braino) alert: "cow attacked the other cows"

i can't believe how stray dogs can behave. i mean, would they really eat this little calf?

Thank you The dogs would have killed the calf if the mother has not been there. A cow can be very violent if the safety of its calf is threatened. It cold even the dogs with its hoens.
