Slaughtered!

"Mom, listen to this!" Craig uttered. "A man slaughtered his wife's paramour. But he won't go to jail. No criminal liability at all!" Yep, it's a crime of passion so no criminal liability, but though he won't be imprisoned, he will be imposed a penalty of destierro! And I had to explain to him what destierro means. This was one lesson I never forgot when I was in law school. Is crime of passion a criminal offense in your country?

Yvonne , if she took a lover and I killed him I would go to jail for at least 10 years It's murder lol

@toniganzon It's a life sentence here as well but that sort of murder isn't such a bad murder as some and let's face it, probably quite common

@Ineeddentures Mitigating circumstance can lower the penalty. But that's not called murder in our case, just homicide.

I don't think crimes of passion would be treated any differently here but I could be completely wrong.

I thought people commit such kind of crime is still liable but their punishment isn't severe since the crime wasn't planned. Good to learn something new.
