It's not as if sharks aren't scary enough out there in the ocean today. Oh, no we have the Otodus megalodon to look back on in history. Only 80 feet long! With teeth the size of human hands. They lived between 23 million and 36 million years ago. Their name is from the Greek meaning "giant tooth". Theirs grew to up to 7 inches. They know they are cannibals. Researchers are still not sure how these predators went extinct. (I think we can all be grateful that they did though) The largest record length of a whale shark is 60 feet.

I would love to see the prehistoric beasts in person, as long as I would be protected from them.
