The U S Postal Service does a lot more than just deliver packages and sell stamps. For instance, the USPIS or United States Postal Inspection Service is the oldest federal law enforcement agency. Founded in 1775 it protects the USPS, its employees, and its customers. Protection from such things as theft, mail fraud, and identity theft. The USPIS investigates mail related crimes, provides security at postal facilities, and works to stop illegal drugs from being transported through the mail system.
