Mother-in-law is rapidly degrading into Dementia.
She can't accurately tell one color from another anymore.
She doesn't remember the name of her husband of 55 years.
She doesn't know her only grandson's name.
She kept telling my husband (her oldest son) that he was about 6 years old when she was born - we think she thought he was her brother instead of her son.
So I picked up these flash cards intended for toddlers today to maybe practice her thinking skills and stimulate her brain.
I don't know if it'll work or not.

She sounds pretty far gone to be honest.
What I wanted to ask was is she still quite physically fit?

@Ineeddentures my mom in her early 80s got sclerosis on the brain and would ask me where I was born but she could walk and even dance; that was not a problem.

I hope it can help some. Does she participate in activities at the home or does she just stay in her room?

Best of luck and I hope they will do good for her. In my first marriage I married a guy 20 years older just somehow we meshed but just for a while, Unfortunately during this time his mother was deteriorating and eventually was put in a home and it was like a circus she thought i was his mistress and he was her husband, talk about craziness.

They may help, there is no way to know without trying. Would she possibly benefit from one of those fidget spinner thingys?
