Carisa Hendrix portrays a character named Lucy Darling on stage nightly at the MGM Grand Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. She is a one woman show that is part vamp, part magic and part crowd improv. To build this persona she pulled from such vamps as Mae West, Marilyn Monroe and Zha Zha Gabore. She is gay and calls herself a drag queen. Some of the people who come to the show are able to wear clothing of their true gender expression and some have come out the same day that they come to the show. With the present climate of the LBGTQ+ community this seems like a very nice outing for these people to have where they can feel normal and not persecuted. Below is a link to an interview that show Carisa and Lucy both:

She doesn't know what she is. She uses the.they their pronouns So she doesn't identify as female I think it's what ever draws the most publicity. She is one who sets out to shock , She isn't funny, or clever She starts her UK Tour in Birmingham on the 12th She is coming to Scotland, I won't be going

She is a drag queen so she wouldn't identify as either. Sure she wants publicity. That's how she makes money. She's not shocking. She's funny. I think she is very clever. You sound very against her.

@celticeagle Drag queens typically identify by their personal names or pronouns outside of their performances, which may differ from their drag personas. They do not necessarily maintain their drag identity when not performing, as drag is often seen as a form of artistic expression rather than a permanent identity So this character identifies as neither but is in fact a woman They affirm that they do not like being misgendered so using she or her when gendering is incorrect. According to them themselves So if you or I say she or her, we are wrong. This only adds to confusion that they themselves create. I am not against them at all I just did not find them funny, and the non binary facade they choose to identify by in real life is just proof they are living in a delusional state that we can either choose.to buy into, or not Clearly we both choose not to as we have both referred to them as her
