My favorite dessert is pecan pie. Pecans are a seasonal nut grown on trees here in the US. The pie is made by baking syrup and other ingredients and the pecans rise up through the syrup mixture to float on the surface. It's almost pure sugar. A pecan pie is about 10 inches/254 mm across. You can get 8 slices or more out of one pecan pie.

@augusta123 Oh, yes, I used to cook pecan pies myself. My recipe makes two of them at a time and that's just too much pie... So I stopped making them and just buy one for Thanksgiving and one for Christmas.
