How early do you pack ?

When you set up for a trip when is the best time to pack ?
This may sound like a crazy question to ask but it's not.
Some wait till the night or day B-4 they leave, some pack
the week B-4, Me, I get everything together & put it all in
a tote a month ahead of time, so that way I have everything
I need B-4 I put it in my luggage for the trip, what about you ?

@Ineeddentures that seems like a reasonable time to get
everything together & not be in a rush to get it all done.

& manage to get everything they need to take with them
Me, I'm so busy with getting everything taken care of
I forget 1/2 of what I need to take with me & can't just
go back & get it or go buy it but, being this is the only
& last long trip we'll make I'm doing it early.

What if you don't pack everything you need
& you have to have it & can't just go buy it ?

Depends on how far I'll be traveling. If it's a trip out of the country, I make a list of what to bring depending on how long I will be staying. I usually start packing a week before. If it's within the country, a night before will suffice. I always make a list so I won't forget anything. I always bring my traveler's journal with me.

making a list of what you want to pack, that's a great Idea.

I start a couple of weeks prior; and I always have lists of what to take. By then I have also marked the route on a map with things to see and do. I'm very OCD when I travel.

Hubby does the driving I just make sure he
keeps his speed right & watch the traffic around us.
