I did something very silly last night.
I wanted to turn the tv over to another channel ….i picked the remote up, not knowing it was upside down….i pressed the button .
Now I have subtitles ……
I don’t need them…..
I don’t want them …..
Can I turn them off ….?
NO
Now I am stuck with them until Friday when The Mister comes home …..
Would that annoy you ?
‘ Cos it’s driving me nuts !

@traceyjayne My wife always has them on even though she’s not deaf. She can always hear when about to do something of which she disapproves. Our daughter, the one with Down Syndrome, reads subtitles which greatly surprised us. When she was about 8 we took her to see a Japanese kids film that was subtitled. We assumed she’d just like the colourful animations, which she did. But she was talking about the story line afterwards and we realised that she had read the subtitles - no other way she could have known what was going on. We didn’t know she could read so fluently.

@AmbiePam ….its not on every thing I watch ….but I’m watching a series on Netflix and it’s only that. I am binge watching it during the week as The Mister doesn’t watch it ….so I’m getting subtitles for like four hours a day ! It’s seriously doing my head in now !

I like the subtitles. I have them turned on. When someone mumbles or the dialogue isn't loud enough, they come in handy.

@LindaOHio I can see that they would be useful in that situation.

Ugh! I hate it when something annoying happens and I can't get rid of it.
I don't like subtitles too.

You might be able to find out by googling. I'm learning to use the remote. I'm tired of Vince's sighs when I have to get him to change channel or whatever.
