My doctor wants an MRI of my Brain and Neck to make sure the cancer has not spread. All well and good. BUT..I told the lady who sets up tests that I prefer to go to Suncoast not HCA. What does she do? Sets me up at HCA and HCA can not do the MRI until the middle of May! I guess that would've been okay, but I prefer SunCoast because I can drive myself there...park close to the door..walk in..they call you back, and you only have to walk no more than 50 ft to get to the MRI area. At HCA I have to have Tom take me and drop me off. Then when they call you to go back to the MRI, you walk about a Half Mile to get there. I called the office back and told them I would like them to change my MRI to SunCoast. They did...BUT
I have a Stent and they won't do the MRI without knowing the Model # of the Stent. I either never got a card with that info or it got lost when we moved. So...NOW..I am told to go to HCA and fill out paperwork to get that information. The reason they say go to THAT place is instead of the Doctor that did the procedure...HCA OWNS that Stent that is in MY body! Long story shortened...THEY are the only entity that actually has the information I Need! If I order the info it will take 3-5 Business days to get it. They recommended having SunCoast or my Cancer doctor to ask for it. So that is what I will be doing today. I have 2 filing cabinets to go through to see if I actually have the card. Found my cards with my Lens information from my cataract surgery. So there IS hope.
We had the last of the Spaghetti for supper last night. No Idea what to have tonight. LOL

Wow, that facility sounds really poorly laid out. I don't blame you for preferring to have imaging done at SunCoast, it sounds about as hassle-free as the facility that did my MRI on Monday.
If you had the procedure done in an HCA facility they'll have the official record, which will include that information. It's probably a lot faster than trying to get the doctor to find it in their records, especially if it's been a while.

That’s awful that they’re treating the information about your stent like it’s nuclear code secrets.
And, of course, there’$ alway$ a $pecific rea$on for tho$e thing$.
Praying for you daily that your news is good!

Hope that you find it and avoid the pain of going to HCA. Praying that all goes with your MRI.

These things get so frustrating sometimes. I'd have an instant headache if it were me. While our health system may not be perfect, individuals choose their provider and you only have to deal with that one company. It seems easier to me.
