Reflections on Time

Time is flying fast.
I have heard and even used this sentence on many occasions, but when we pause and think deeper - we realize that it's not time which is flying; time is actually moving at the same pace as used to move a decade ago. Probably we got busier with responsibilities in life. Another thing to reflect on is whether we are busy with the right things, with things that are beneficial for our mental health or are we spending time on things that don't matter.
What are your thoughts?

It is true what we say about time that it flies. I have said those words whenever I realize that my daughter is no longer the baby that she is.. Like time went by so fast that it flies. One minute she was holding a pacifier and the next minute she is already holding a lipstick.

My son will turn four this year. I still remember the day we brought him home from clinic. It was as if yesterday. So, I feel you.

@excellence7 I know right, achingly funny though that these kids would make us realize that we have gotten much older.

@Yadah04 I once came across a moment on YouTube that has stayed with me ever since. Someone asked a parent a simple yet profound question: “What is the most beautiful and the saddest thing about having children?”
The parent paused and replied, “The most beautiful thing is watching them grow up.”
Then came the follow-up: “And the saddest?” The answer was the same—“Watching them grow up.”
In that quiet contradiction lies the truth of parenthood: every step forward is a joy to witness, yet also a gentle reminder that the little moments, the dependence, and the innocence are slowly slipping away.

I think you hit the nail on the head. I was thinking a little bit today, and maybe a bit sadly, about all the good times past with family. I need to remember good times surely are ahead, and to appreciate our loved ones for the time we have left.

Time is fleeting when you're enjoying. Time seems to stand still if you're feeling bad.

Spend it the right way, with our loved ones and do things diligently and with a cherrful heart.

Welcome back to myLot! I don't believe I've ever talked with you before.
My mental health is fine. It's my physical health I'm concentrating on right now. I am getting older and have started falling while walking or just standing and looking at something. If nothing is close enough for me to grab, I might fall down.
I went to the ER a couple of weeks ago because I fell in my bedroom and hit the right side of my head on my wooden dresser. I wasn't bleeding but I was dizzy so my daughter insisted I see a doctor. At the ER, they x-rayed my head and found a possible problem. I have an appointment with a brain specialist in September to see what needs to be done now.
Hopefully, everything will be okay by the time I see the specialist. We shall see.

Hi,
Thank you for sharing what you are going through. I pray that you get better. Have you been able to diagnose the reason for your dizziness? Sometimes, it can be due to sinusitis or Eustachian tube dysfunction.

@excellence7 I was diagnosed several years ago with Graves' Disease. So that could be part of the problem. At the ER a couple of weeks ago I was diagnosed with Normal-Pressure Hydrocephalus. That's why I need the specialist.
