Didn't know morgue visits are permitted in Kenya free

During an interview in a late night show run by one of our local radio stations here in western Kenya, I was taken aback to know that members of the public are entitled to free organized and guided tours of the morgues. The mortician who was the guest in the show disclosed that morgues are not restricted areas and can be “toured” by members of the public for general knowledge and educational purposes. She argued that a tour of the morgue can help reduce all myths surrounding the dreaded place. She further stated that being in such a place should not just be left for the time when we collect our loved ones for burial. A simple tour to that place can earn you an opportunity of witnessing procedures such as embalmment, autopsy and more. It can make one reconsider the way of life to lead. Have you ever been inside a morgue?

No, but I figured these free tours were mostly for students entering the medical field. I wouldn’t be upset to visit a morgue as long as they didn’t have a poor person laid out on the table. I’ll reserve that for people who can see it, but won’t dream about stuff like that.
