Underestimating Iran

If Trump was surrounded by intelligent and capable people who could properly advise him, AND if he listened, then he would know the facts.
Persia was an Empire which lasted thousands of years. It is now called Iran. It has dealt with many rivals, most more competent and intelligent than Trump, and defeated them. It knows how to manipulate, deceive, and succeed.
America is a nation which existed for two hundred and fifty years. It only became a 'world power' after World War II. This is the time when Europe and Asia, having been devastated by the war, turned to America for help. Stupidly, they thought they could always depend on America. They have learned their lesson.
Trump,ignorant of reality thought Iran would be an easy win. He showed no respect at all, acted as if he had all the power.
Although there were many examples that Iran was playing him, he, in the bubble of his ego, never saw it. Still doesn't realise it. He spews lies which explode in his face, makes all sorts of threats he can not implement.
And the world watches...

@jaylar The arrogant vanity on display chez Trump is astounding yet predictable. It’s a general western misunderstanding that western powers can just take out whatever countries they don’t like and assume that non-western countries will collapse when attacked. Nothing has been learned from Afghanistan which saw off the Soviet Union and then the western alliance - poor, little Afghanistan! It is so good to see Iran standing up to Trump and humiliating him even though he doesn’t realise it. He is so easily played - Putin has been doing it for years.

Putin has manipulated him like a puppet from start. I knew Iran would play him, even imagined some of the scenarios. I knew that Trump would block Iran's ports because 'anything you can do, I can do better' is part of his childish mentality.
Iran knew it which is why it is so prepared.
