Books So Far in '26

I made a small reading goal this year. Usually I put it at like 100 but it's been so busy lately with everything going on that I decided to go small this time and only put 30. Huge jump right. Especially if you've been around and know how I am with reading lol. As of right now, I have ten books read. It's pretty good start and according to GoodReads that's two books ahead of schedule. I would love it if I could do more than 30 but we'll see. 1. The Seven Rings-Nora Roberts This one was the last book in the Nora Roberts Lost Brides trilogy. I loved this series, the heroine was a strong female character that didn't need a man to save her. She saved herself but he was by her side. It also showcased family. 2. Always Mine- Laura Pavlov Firefighter family. Strong female. Friends to lovers. Amazing slow burn book. 3. Legacy- Carrie Ann Ryan Best friend's little sister, one of the best tropes out there. Callum ex football star with daddy issues. Felicity crushing on her brother's best friend for most of her life. Together=fire. Part of the Ashford Creek series. 4. Accidental Runaway Groom-Carrie Ann Ryan This one is actually kind of funny. The groom that is supposed to get married, due to the fact no one can just talk was drugged and left in a field so that he would look like the "runaway" groom. There had to be an easier way to stop a wedding no one wanted and still save face in a small town lol. 5. One Quick Obsession- Carrie Ann Ryan Part of the Cage family series following Hudson and Scarlett. Hudson was the grump of the town. Bad attitude and all. Scarlett was miss perfect, never doing anything half way. Talks about abuse and breaking the cycle. 6. Devious Little Liars- Elle Thorpe Who done it? We start with a mystery. Who killed Lacey's uncle? Then we go to a reverse harem and why choose situation. This is a trilogy and as you read, it's actually a pretty good explanation of a poly situation. Granted it's senior year high school but still, good is good. 7. Dangerous Little Secrets- Elle Thorpe Book two and I was hooked. I literally hated to put this book down as I wanted to know what happened next. Yes, we have steamy scenes but the emotional ones really get you. Lacey is so strong but nothing is what it seems and to try and figure it all out is a puzzle that takes everyone to figure out. 8. Twisted Little Truths-Elle Thorpe This is the final book in the series and it threw me a curve ball. We get our HEA but I mean. I didn't see the answer to the mystery coming. I probably should have because I mean no one can be that oblivious but who knows. 9.Crossroads- Carrie Ann Ryan This was book 2 in the Ashford series. Recluse meets rock star. Another abuse trope and moving on after tragedy. Carrie Ann Ryan really writes emotional books lol. I loved all these books for one reason or another. I'm currently on Breathe by Abbi Glines for the simple fact that one of the short drama apps I watch did that book so I actually picked it up. I will also be doing a better review of Crossroads soon. If not today then tomorrow. Depends on how busy I get in about an hour lol. I like the goal but I don't live by it. Do you have a goal? What's a good read you've read so far this year?

That sounds like a solid start, especially with a more realistic goal this year. It’s good you’re enjoying what you’re reading.

I do. I read just about anything and have a lot of books here to get through :) I'm in the middle of making a library, it's my little sanctuary.

@Nawsheen It's always been a dream of mine. I don't like how I got it but I'm loving it. Very bittersweet

Cousin #2 loves Nora Roberts. She's read dozens of her books. I don't have a reading goal. The small print bothers my eyes. I have some really good books to read too. Sigh.

They came out with a lot of kindles or nooks to help with that or audio books. I'm trying to get Chris's grandmother to consider audio books but she doesn't really have the attention span I think. Nora is my idol. I got to meet her a few years ago and it was the highlight of my life! Her bookstore is amazing and I'm super glad that I got to eat at Vesta before she shut it down.

I feel like I’m familiar with Abbi Glines, but I can’t place her.

I started with Rosemary Beach but the series that I've seen around the most is Under the Field Lights. You may have seen that box set or the books around

I'm way behind in my reading this year but I'm currently reading Hidden Nature by Nora Roberts. I know you read this when it came out but I'm only getting around to it now. So far so good.

I have never been disappointed in a Nora book. I can't wait for her new series, Birth of the Witch I think it's called. I think it comes out in November or October I'm not sure
