No, this is not sugarcane.

This is a photo I took of my Napier grass farm section

I am sure the green grassy plants in this image resemble sugarcane. In deed, here in Kenya we call them "Napier Grass". They are great feed for cattle, especially in the case of dairy farming. I have planted a lot of it in hope that I may buy a cow soon and feed her well. I have put these on sale and the customer is likely to cut them up as soon as he pays, probably this week.

If you would have not mentioned, I would have mistaken that to be sugarcane. Hope you get well paid for the effort that you have put in for growing these. What's the plant with little flowers in the picture?

I would be glad to get paid well. The plant with little flowers is called Lantana (lantana camara). It is ideal for live fencing and it is actually protecting the napier grass from intrusion by stray cows.

@SIDIKIMPOLE Oh! I see. Is it poisonous or repels the cows? What a natural lovely fencing. Nature is wonderful. Does it come for any other use?

@SIDIKIMPOLE The bushes in Mum's garden which we called lantana were poisonous to stock. I don't remember them being prickly but they grew very densely.

I hope you're able to get a cow soon. I am going to sponsor someone on Kiva. I think it will be a man who wants to buy some pigs. I like supporting people who are farming.
