It’s that time of night.

One of the main worries that seems to beset the human race is the possibility of extinction by either climate change or a nuclear incident. Would that really be such a terrible thing? If we were all to die we’d know nothing about it, and after all, everybody who has ever lived and is over 125 is already extinct and they don’t seem to mind. It is inevitable that one day this world will be no more and we seem to be spinning towards that day and picking up speed as we go. Bringing God into the equation neither helps nor hinders. He envisages a day when all that exists will come to a grand conclusion after which no subsequent generations will be born. This inevitability, however, gives us no excuse to play recklessly with God’s good earth or to be the means by which the human race meets a violent end. We are to continue to care for the physical world as Adam was told to, and we are to seek peace and pursue it. We’re going to die, but let’s enjoy life while we march inexorably towards the grave, but let’s do so without hindering anyone else’s enjoyment, without causing anyone else any harm, and without leaving anyone else out. The answer to Cain’s question “Am I my brother’s keeper?” was “Yes”.

So even if everything eventually ends, it still makes sense to act responsibly while we’re here. Not because of what happens after, but because of what our actions do to others in the present.

I think everything has its time ....dinosaurs are an example ....the world is ever changing and once we have served our purpose thats it ....something new will take over and rule the world.

I am in agreement with you that we should enjoy life to the fullest until we go home to our Maker.

Humans have a knack for treating each other poorly.
