I have been searching for this song for 30 years

I first watched "waiting to exhale" when it came out in 1995. The film follows four Black women— Whitney Houston, Angela Bassett, Lela Rochon, and Loretta Devine navigating love, heartbreak, and friendship in Phoenix. What really stayed with me is the movie's legendary soundtrack. The movie has amazing soundtrack
One song surprised me the most, the beautiful ballet called "Somewhere There's Love" performed by De De O'Neal and written by Babyface . It was recorded for the heartbreaking scene where Angela Bassett character gets dumped by her husband yet It never made the official soundtrack . It's such a beautiful song
For 30 years, I have been searching for that song only to discover it was never added to the official soundtrack. Fans have been begging for the official release for 30 years .
Babyface revealed on an IG live that
the song was meant to be on the soundtrack but Whitney removed it to feature Shanna's "how could you call her baby" Instead.
Whitney had final say. So, "somewhere there's love" stayed in the movie but never made the album. The masters belong to Arista record and without a big name artist attached to , it was left behind. Babyface even admitted he doesn't know where the master is.
If you search for the song online, all you will find is the raw audio from the movie scene. There is no clean studio version, no official release..just the film audio. That's why it's been missing for 30 years.
Since Whitney had final say on that particular track, the decision was ultimately hers. Now that shes gone, I and many other fan can only hope that babyface and Arista record will one day release the clean studio version this beautiful song deserves.
Until then, I still listen to the film version. The only copy I have on my phone is the clip from the movie scene.
This is the link to the movie scene where the song plays in the background.

I’ve never seen the movie nor heard the song. I have, however, driven on the Kenneth Babyface Edmonds Freeway in Indianapolis many times!

Indeed! the song is beautiful.
I'm also like this whenever I hear song in the background and I do search. Then gets disappointed when the song is not included to official soundtrack. There's really some song just remain as background and no official releases.
