Do you believe in "evil eye?"

I don't. It's a belief common among asian nations that envious glare can cause bad luck, injury or illness. So a lot of people in my country would buy charms or ornaments to protect them from the evil eye. I don't. I simply don't post personal stuff or brag about what I have or what I possess on social media. Though sometimes I'd post some stuff that brings me joy but I don't post how much I earn, how many cars I have, etc. I don't need external validation or attention.

No, I do not believe in "evil eye". I avoid to brag because I know that people get envious and you risk to receive rude comments.

Same. People will always have something to say both good or bad. Those who say good only do so in front of you but behind you, they say bad things coz by nature they are envious people. So I don't ignite the fire.

@LadyDuck A friend once told me that I should avoid things not because of superstitious belief but according to him, sometimes because too many people believe in it, it becomes somehow true. So just avoid doing something that majority of the people believe tn. But if it's something ludicrous of course, I just do what I want.

I have an evil eye bracelet. I’m not a big believer in it, but I don’t mind wearing it. It looks nice, and the “protection” part is just a bonus if it’s true. I’m not really active on social media either. I only have a dummy account for reading or joining groups, creating content, not a PERSONAL one with posts or friends. I deleted my personal FB over 10 years ago because it just felt toxic to me. It was all OOTDs, food posts, outings—just constant updates about people’s lives. Even if they were my friends, I wasn’t really interested in that kind of content.

@toniganzon Same! It's just not me because I'm a very private person and it reflects here, even on Mylot. You hardly see me post things about myself, my day, what I bought, or did etc. So when I say I'm not into any soc med, I really am not. What I do have are non-personal accounts for content creation only.

I don't either. But I sometimes post about something I bought if I really like it. I don't brag because I don't have anything to brag about.

My Ig account is on private mode and I do share things that make me happy but only the select few could see it. Only those closest to me.

My social media has nothing from my family and personal life. It's only about valid things from my professional life and causes that I support. I want to enjoy the precious moments in my life and not have the thoughts running in my mind to take pictures and make it worth for sharing.

Instagram is where ei frequently post but it's not for public consumption. It's in private mode and open only to those closest to me or those who share the same interest as me.

I don’t think the evil eye is real no matter what anyone posts, bragging or not. I kind of feel sorry for people who let these superstitions affect their lives.

I agree. I also do not like those who posts their wealth for everyone to see and when they get bashed, they complain. I think the moment you post something on social media for public consumption, you are opening the doors for people to criticize you.

I only heard of the evil eye when my mother bought me a pendant to wear when I became a new mother. I wore it for her. I am not on social media except to see posts from my grandkids and nephew. Do you consider myLot social media?

Mylot isn't a social media t all. Never considered it as one. It's a discussion and the views are very limited. My IG account is on private mode. Not open for public consumption. And even so, I hardly post anything personal.
