Firefighters with the Corolla Fire Rescue (CFR), Currituck Fire and Emergency Rescue Services and Corolla Beach Rescue who teamed up on Wednesday to rescue three persons whose gender was not revealed who drifted away from the beach due to the strong winds who needed to be rescued. Corolla Beach Rescue lifeguard Sam Cherry went out on a life board to rescue one person back to safety while firefighters used a jet ski to rescue two other persons from the ocean and take them to the shore safely. The Currituck Fire/EMS employees checked the persons that were rescued for hypothermia and they were they found to be in good condition. Teamwork was important to save the lives of the trio of persons who were about one mile away from the shore when they were rescued by the firefighters and lifeguard on the beach. Teamwork is the key right enough You would have thought the people rescued would not have let themselves drift out that far

You have a good point that the swimmers made an error in being out in the ocean under bad weather.

I wonder if the riptides got them. We’ve had riptide warnings every single day since December 5th. They were ultra lucky they were saved.
