Animal control officers in Whiting New Jersey contacted the Whiting Fire Company on Wednesday to ask for their assistance to rescue five kittens who were trapped in a storm drain on the Hudson Parkway. The firefighters secured the storm grate so they could rescue the five kittens safely. The firefighters then gave the kittens to an on-duty animal officer who took the kittens to an animal shelter where they will be up for adoption. How the kittens wound up in the storm drain is not known. Link is yahoo.com/lifstyle/arti... via @@Yahoo

This is the sort of operation that I wondered who picked up the bill for because this must have cost a few bucks to do. Glad the kitties got saved though and I wouldn't put a cost on that

Perhaps some rotten human being dumped those poor kittens there. I’m so glad they were rescued. Hopefully, they will get adopted and grow up with loving families.

Stray, or loose, kittens can both get into trouble, or cause trouble, and should never be allowed to roam free. Maybe, they were strays, or abandoned, but city authorities should really round up all such strays more quickly. It was good here that the problem of the strays was taken care of.

You have a good point there about cats needed to be rounded up.
