Dating back to 1863 this day was established to create an awareness of at-risk animals. It falls each year on April 26th and it acknowledges different ways to help horses such as equine rescues, sanctuaries, and welfare organizations.
I love horses. I can still remember a book I read when I was about 14. It was about a girl and a horse named Stardust. She would go to this farm and ride her favorite horse as often as she could. One day she finds out the farm might have to sell Stardust. She works to save the horse from sale.

I remember my late grandmother used to own a horse as her pet in the countryside of Panama as well as her relatives.

I think having a horse as well as being such a great pet, there is alot of responsibility that goes into having one.

@celticeagle That is true since there are not many roads in the farm areas where my late grandmother lived.

I love horses but the one I tried to ride didn't love me
It stopped instead of jumping a fence and I landed on the ground with a thud.
Ouch
Help a Horse day is a good idea though
