Working on a New Pic

Hey all, hope everyone's week is going well. I'm not hearing the weird noise any more, so maybe it's been fixed. The May art show has a "future" theme, so it's about possible visions of the future, optimistic or pessimistic.
Because of the rollback of funding for renewable energy projects, I'm feeling gloomy. I read that Miami is one of the cities that is most in danger from global climate change, so I am working on a rather apocalyptic version of the city being half submerged by the sea level rising. I'm working from photo reference, but as you can see, I'm making the scene look a lot bleaker than the photo.
Anyway, this isn't finished yet, but it was already accepted into the show. Since it's pastel, I can get it done pretty quickly, and I'll show you more later.

Thank you! I have to drop it off on Sunday, but I'm planning to finish before then.

Thank you! It's going to have a lot more contrast and detail. It's currently in the rather blurry "middle phase", where the sketch is gone but the image hasn't been honed.

Yes, sea level has already risen enough to really threaten a lot of places.
