It's May Day

Welcome to May, folks.
I remember learning about May 1st being May Day and dancing around the May Pole when I was in elementary school. Did you ever hear of that?
It was a traditional folk celebration for people to take a tall pole and decorate it with ribbons woven around it and dance around it to celebrate spring, fertility, and community festivity.
This year has just flown by for me. Has it for you?

I don’t remember celebrating May Day. In Hawaii this was “Lei Day,” and all the civilians in our command wearing fresh flowers around their necks sent me to the emergency room. Allergies.

I remember learning about that as something that used to happen way back when. I've never actually seen anybody do it, though.
