It's Practically a Holiday Today in Louisville, Kentucky

In my city, everybody is celebrating all of the festivities associated with The Kentucky Derby, for which the famous horse race runs tomorrow.
Some employers close their shops today to let the employees go to the horse race track or to parties.
Today is Oaks Day. That means the famous horse race made up solely of fillies (female horses).
Today is also a celebration of women insofar as there is a Survivors Parade for survivors of breast and ovarian cancer to encourage others who are still fighting a battle with cancer. The Survivors Parade is just before the main Oaks Race.
And just like Kentucky Derby Day tomorrow, everyone shows up dressed in their finest dresses and fancy hats.

The thing Louisville is known for. I used to date somebody who grew up in Louisville. He was big on "derby day."

Don't they all look gorgeous? And they all look really happy too which is great. I hope they all have a great time at the races.
