First grader saves the life of his classmate who choked on his food

Seven year old boy Sameer Santana was eating at the Stephen Olney Elementary School in North Providence Rhode Island on Tuesday April 7 during lunch hour when his classmate Jabril Brewster began choking on his food.
Salmer who learned the Heimlich maneuver when he was in kindergarten ran over to apply the lifesaving move on Jabril to save his life.
Sameer was awarded by officials of his school on Tuesday April 28 with the mayor of Providence Charlie Lombardi as well as firefighters and police officers were there to award Sameer with a life saving award which Sameer earned.
