Pastel Pic is Finished - with a "Trashy" Mat!

Hey All, hope everyone is having a good Saturday. I finished the pastel piece on Thursday, and yesterday, I made a custom mat for it. Because the theme is to show the damage caused by our lack of care for the environment, I made the mat from used candy wrappers (Hershey's Kisses, specifically) to represent garbage. So I made it look bumpy and uneven, as though it were piles of garbage surrounding the piece.
So if you think it looks trashy, then I did it right!

Looks good!
Love the idea of using used candy wrappers. Gives it an appropriate feel and character.

@AliCanary where will this piece of art end up? Is it up for sale?

@allen0187 it is! It's currently in a gallery show, priced at $185, framed. I don't know if it will sell bc our economy is rotten au gratin, but it is a fair price.

Thanks! I was saving them to use for collaging and other art projects, but I knew if I could make them look very lumpy and tattered, they would do a pretty good job looking like garbage.

Thank you! Of course, I'm sneaky, because I *recycled* the wrappers into a mat
