Does the Punishment Fit the Crime?

A 32 year old Boise woman was sentenced recently to a five year suspended sentence with probation, and 60 days in jail. This was the sentence the judge gave for stealing $30,000 worth of jewelry from her Hospice patients. She was charged with federal grand theft as well as misdemeanor petite theft. She has a methamphetamine addiction and did have remorse for her crime. Do you think her sentencing fit the crime?

I think that the judge made the decision thought best I think given the addiction the 60 days in jail might be time well spent

Stealing from Hospice patients? I would have been much more severe in my sentencing.

Hopefully time in prison for 60 days will change her habit of stealing jewelry from her hospice patients.
