Amusing video of the day

Jut found this and it makes me smile even though I have seen it four times already (because I have to keep showing it to everyone else!) Even our arachnophobic lodger thought it was cute! Apparently little was known about peacock spiders, which are only 1 or 2 mm long, until 20 years ago when a biologist called Jurgen Otto first heard about them and set about trying to photograph and film their mating behaviour. His pictures generated so much interest and fascination that people started looking for them and since then many more species in this family have been identified. I challenge you not to smile when you watch this: You can find out more about this group of spiders here www.peacockspider.org

I watched the films last year and yes, I did smile while watching the little males dance and hope not to be the next meal.

Oh I don't know, I wouldn't want to meet a human-sized one. They move so fast and they're far too clever!
