A Electricity Bill Scam

It's called the utility shut off scam. Even some who auto pay are being scammed. They may come to your home, text or call you telling you that you supposedly owe money on your bill and need to pay up or your utilities will be shut off. In some cases, they will give you a bar code you need to click on to pay your supposed bill. They can 'spoof' #'s so they look like a legit company.
Beware and stay cool.

Oh that's an old one they used to do here.
It's amazing just how many people fell for it.
It must have looked really legit

@celticeagle
Maybe hadn't been done there before.
There were probably other scams there that we have not seen here

Thank you for the warning since from time to time I get phone calls from companies making threats to either pay up the bill for the computer quickly or else have the computer get turned off.

I know I"m current and would never be subject to a shut off.
