Tonight is the Met Gala in NYC

Tonight is the Metropolitan Museum of Art's annual Met Gala which is a big fundraiser for the museum's Costume Institute. I feel like there's another name for that part of the museum as well but it isn't coming to me. Oh well. Former Vogue Editor-in-Chief Anna Wintour is the boss of the event of course. She approves the 450-600 person guest list as well as everyone's attire. This year Jeff Bezos and wife Lauren Sanchez are sponsoring the gala by putting up $10 million of their own money. That's not even a drop in the bucket of their gazillions of dollars but whatever. There are no cameras inside the event so the big thing for us regular folk is to watch the arrivals on the red carpet. People tend to dress pretty outlandishly for the Met Gala. There is a theme though you'd usually be hard pressed to figure it out just by examining what guests wear. This year's theme sounds pretty tame with something like "Costuming". I've seen a few pictures of arrivals. Lauren Sanchez's dress is decidedly modest and tasteful compared to her usual fright show outfits. Anna Wintour's isn't to my taste but it is perfect for her. I would really like Nicole Kidman's dress if they removed the feather thing around her waist. Are you paying attention to tonight's Met Gala?
