Free Chips and Queso for Cinco de Mayo

Hubby and I go to the Mexican restaurant near us every Tuesday. Today was a special Tuesday, that being the celebration of Cinco de Mayo. As an enticement to come in there today, they were offering free chips and queso with any purchase. So we shared our normal $10 lunch and got free chips and queso. Two of us dined for $10 plus tip plus tax. Are you having Mexican food or drink for Cinco de Mayo?

There is an amazing Mexican restaurant right around the corner from my house, and when I got off work today at 1pm I planned on going straight there to get a table, since I knew it would be packed due to Cinco de Mayo. Drove by there at 1:30pm and there was a line of people out the door. Crap. Drove to the next closest place; same situation: line out the door. I had to accept the fact that in this university town all the college kids would be celebrating and packing out all the Mexican restaurants. I ended up at one of our local craft breweries instead.

Not here in the phillipines, but i love mexican food. I love tacos and nachos, , i don't need a specialn day thoughs, if i crave it, will find a place where i can eat or maybe prepare it myseldf

No. That's not an American holiday so I see no reason to celebrate it.

That sounds like a great deal! I guess we don't really have any reason to celebrate a Mexican victory... We did have cheese fondue on Sunday, which is almost along the same lines

I have to say, I have never been to a Mexican restaurant that didn't have at least free chips and salsa. Although, the queso has never been free. As for me, I just made chicken noodle soup with some leftover chicken I had from a recent Mississippi chicken I made.
