I was woken up because...

...of the call from a friend. It was an early morning that I could not sleep back in. This friend of mine is a certified whiner, and his concerns are always repetitive to my ears every day. I cannot do anything but be a good listener for him to unleash his personal life challenges. It is not my business to interfere with his sentiments in life. I can only give pieces of advice if he asks for my points of view. It is up to him to dismiss it or not. Besides, there is no right or wrong in giving opinionated statements. I cannot also blame him for being in this state because he considered me his confidant.
Are you a good listener?
Do you have a confidant in life?

I listen to friends complain about their lives. If they ask for my advice, I give them my opinions but can also stay silent if they don't ask.
Sometimes Pretty wants to talk about her friends but she rarely asks my opinions. She just wants to vent her feelings and doesn't want my advice. (She says I can't fix things for them so there's no reason to ask.)

He’s lucky to have you as a confidant and friend, someone he can share stories with even in the middle of your sleep. I just hope he takes your advice to heart and works on changing his whining attitude. Keeping that kind of mindset won’t help him grow into a better person.

I can only imagine how exhausted you must be after listening to his tirades about life, @Shavkat.
. However, there may also be a chance to learn from his side of the story, which can on the other hand, it might be a chance to learn from his side of the story, which can be challenging.

Hahahha, I know how you feel. When my friends are still all single, they also love to talk to me. One of my friends keeps emailing me about her rants, and sometimes it was handwritten, and I respond back with a written letter, while others we talk face to face, or we spend hours on the phone! That's my 9Os and early 2OOO era, lol!

@Shavkat, It is nice to know that you don't take it to heart.

@luisadannointed It shows that I am still human and have no need to wear a moon face towards others.

I can relate to that. I was once tagged as Mr. Congeniality because of being a good listener and absorber of all kinds of rants from close friends. Sometimes they do not reciprocate the same gesture, but I am fine with that. For the reason that I can know which person should be trusted and confided in with certain concerns that bother me.

@Ineeddentures It is fine because my mom is my angel and still guiding me spiritually. I still confide certain dilemmas in life here. You and the rest of the gang can hear my voice through reading it virtually.
